In Croatia, the peak tourist season is currently underway, with more than a million tourists in the country. New visitors arrive daily, especially during this last weekend in July. The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) has organized an action again this year to distribute non-carbonated natural mineral water with the message "Welcome to Croatia" to all tourists.

At the Rupa and Lučko toll stations and in the ferry ports of Split and Hvar (Stari Grad) this Saturday, 50,000 bottles of water will be distributed. This gesture symbolizes a welcome and gratitude to the guests who have chosen Croatia for their vacation. In addition to the water bottles, tourists will also receive specially branded car air fresheners.

Statement by Kristjan Staničić
"This traditional action is our way of expressing gratitude to the many guests who have placed their trust in us. The goal is to be good and responsible hosts. The crowds are large, and the heat is high, so we want to ease their waiting and journey with this small sign of attention. Their positive reactions and comments best show how pleasantly surprised they are by this gesture," said Kristjan Staničić, director of HTZ.

The Croatian National Tourist Board is conducting this action in cooperation with Croatian Motorways and Jamnica. On the water bottles, in addition to the welcome message, there is also a QR code that leads to the Croatia.hr website, where all useful information about Croatian destinations and the country's tourist offer can be found.

The water distribution action is part of the broader strategy of the Croatian National Tourist Board to promote Croatia as an attractive tourist destination. The aim is to provide visitors with a pleasant experience from the moment they arrive in the country, emphasizing hospitality and quality tourist offerings. Additionally, this initiative contributes to strengthening Croatia's positive image internationally.

Planned Events
This Saturday, the action continues in the ferry ports of Stinica and Split, where an additional 30,000 bottles of water are planned to be distributed. HTZ director Kristjan Staničić emphasized the importance of such actions in improving the tourist experience, noting that tourists expressed enthusiasm for the previous water distributions at the end of July.

Last year's similar actions proved very successful, and the feedback from tourists was extremely positive. Through such gestures, the Croatian National Tourist Board aims to continuously improve visitors' impressions and encourage their return to the country.

Incorporating modern technologies, such as the QR code on the water bottles, allows tourists easy access to information. On the Croatia.hr website, they can find details about attractions, accommodation, and events, further enriching their experience of staying in Croatia.

Promotion of Croatian Products
This action is also an opportunity to promote Croatian products. Jamnica, as a partner in the action, provides high-quality water, further highlighting the quality of domestic products to an international audience. In the ferry ports of Stinica and Split, as well as at border crossings, tourists had the opportunity to experience a unique welcome.

Given the increasing number of tourists coming to Croatia, such actions are becoming more important for ensuring a positive tourist experience. By providing guests with a small welcome gesture, the Croatian National Tourist Board contributes to creating positive memories that tourists will take with them and perhaps encourage their return.

According to the eVisitor system data, there are currently over 1,068,000 tourists in Croatia, of which about 940,000 are foreign. Most guests come from Germany, Slovenia, Austria, and Poland. The most visited destinations include Rovinj, Vir, Medulin, Poreč, Umag, and Dubrovnik. This large number confirms the attractiveness of Croatia as a tourist destination and the significance of such initiatives in improving the overall guest experience.
