This year, as part of "Poreč Summer", visitors and local residents can participate in free historical walks accompanied by the song "La mula de Parenzo". The Poreč Tourist Board organized these tours for the first time last year with the aim of promoting the Visitor Center "La mula de Parenzo", located in Freedom Square. Today's first tour attracted about thirty participants and was held in Croatian, German, and Italian.
Under the guidance of the theater troupe from Teatar Naranča, participants learned about the song "La mula de Parenzo" and interesting facts from the history of Poreč. The walk was accompanied by accordion music, and they stopped at key points such as the North Tower, Marafor Square, Neptune's Temple, and the "La mula de Parenzo" Center. Characters such as the fish seller, librarian, and famous American writer Ernest Hemingway told them about the city's history. The walk ended at the "La mula de Parenzo" Center, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the history of Poreč through photographs, old objects, and multimedia content.
The walks will take place several times during the summer, and registration is possible by phone at 451 293 or by email at lamuladeparenzo@myporec.com. The next walk is scheduled for Thursday, July 25, at 9 a.m. More information about the tours is available on the website of the Poreč Tourist Board, www.myporec.com.
Interpretative walks "La mula de Parenzo" allow participants to experience the history of Poreč in a special way, through interactive performances and encounters with historical figures.
