On Thursday, July 11, 2024, around 2:45 a.m., a 46-year-old driver from Zagreb was driving a car on the southbound lane of the A3 highway, in the area of the Lučko interchange, in the left traffic lane heading southeast.
When he reached 16 km + 900 m, where temporary traffic signs are installed due to road works that divert traffic to the right, the driver did not adjust his speed to the road conditions.
At that moment, the front left part of the vehicle hit a plastic barrier, the traffic sign "Mandatory Direction", four traffic separation markers, and a battery-powered light strip.
Police officers who inspected the vehicle and driver determined through a breathalyzer test that the driver had 1.55 g/kg of alcohol in his system.
The traffic accident caused material damage to the vehicle and traffic equipment.
The driver was detained and taken to the Municipal Misdemeanor Court where he was fined 1580 euros and was banned from driving for a period of one month.
